Vernon County Sheriff John Spears Reports

SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING March 31, 2014

3/24  Erik Woxland, La Crescent, was following Kathy Dusso, Westby, down the Coon Valley Hill on Highway 14, Town of Hamburg, when he lost control of his vehicle.  The Woxland vehicle struck the Dusso vehicle while both were in motion.  Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.  Neither driver was injured.

3/25  Heath Larsen, Dakota, was performing a U-turn on County Road Y from County Road LF in the Town of Viroqua, with his truck when he backed into a vehicle driven by Robert Starr, Viroqua.  Neither man was injured.

3/27  Sue Gameson, Westby, called to report damage at her Town of Christiana property to her garage and kayak sometime between last November and now.

3/27  Kyle Turner, Readstown, went off the road and rolled his truck on County JJ, Town of Franklin.  Turner suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

3/27  Douglas Paa, Pewaukee, reported someone has been stealing trees at his Town of Wheatland property.

3/28  Leroy Wallace, Ontario, reported someone took a load of firewood from where he cut it in Oconto Woods, Town of Whitestown.

3/30  Heather Greeno, Stoddard, reported someone broke into her Village of Stoddard home.  Money and a video game were missing.

3/31                 4 reportable car/deer crashes:

Desarae Parker, La Farge, on Aumock Road, Town of Stark;

Timothy O’Connor, Viroqua, on County Road O, Town or Harmony;

Mark McHenry, Coon Valley, on US Highway 14, Town of Coon;

Corey Jones, Soldiers Grove, on Highway 14, Town of Kickapoo
