Vernon County Sheriff John Spears Reports

SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING May 12, 2014.

5/5  Kevin Munson, Hillsboro, swerved to avoid a turkey on Ridge Road, Town of Hillsboro.  He went into the road ditch, causing both airbags to deploy.  Munson suffered minor injuries from the air bag.

5/6  Katelyn Burke, Westby, was backing up on private property on East Smith Road, Town of Viroqua.  She struck a legally parked vehicle belonging to Patricia Allen, Viroqua.  No injuries occurred.

5/6  Ace Fawcett, La Farge, was northbound when he lost control of his vehicle on a curve of Cut Off Road, Town of Whitestown.  He crossed the oncoming traffic lane and overturned into a small creek.  No injuries were reported.

5/9  George Smith, LaCrescent, lost control of his vehicle when the rear axle broke on his 1960 Ford Starliner.  He went off road but suffered no injuries.

5/9  A peeping tom in the neighborhood of Winneshek Apartments, Village of DeSoto, was reported to the Sheriff’s Office. The incident took place nearly three weeks ago.  It was investigated and a warning was given.

Ronald Wiegenstein, Viola, on County Road U, Town of Kickapoo;

Terry Turpin, Elroy, on Lovers Lane, Town of Hillsboro;

Mary Powers, Mauston, on State Highway 33, Town of Hillsboro;

Tristan Buros-Nash, on State Highway 82, Town of Wheatland;

Marc Lingelbach, Chaseburg, on State Highway 162, Town of Hamburg;

Wendy Miller, Minneapolis, on State Highway 56, Town of Harmony;

Mark Fluekiger, Cashton, on Knapp Valley Road, Town of Clinton;

Joel Schwabe, Viola, on US Highway 14, Town of Kickapoo;

Dana Krachtt, Blue River, on US Highway 14, Town of Coon.
