Necedah Village Board Approves Project Acceptance Certifications; Talks Golf Course Redevelopment and Possible Community Theater

Several items on the Necedah Village Board’s agenda were approved on Monday evening. The board approved project acceptance certifications for work done on the Water Treatment Facility. Village Administrator Roger Herried said that the acceptance is requirement to closeout the projects. Staab Construction Corporation was the contractor that was hire to build the Water Treatment Facility, Tonka Equipment Company provided the iron removal filter and controls that went inside the Water Treatment Facility. The board also approved a project acceptance certification for Badger Environmental and Earthworks. The company installed a water main in the Village of Necedah.  The project was completed last year.

The Village Board also approved a quote of $4,507.20 by Mulchy Shaw Water to install the Wastewater Treatment Plant Monitoring equipment. Herried said the equipment replaces 14 year old existing equipment. The new equipment includes 20 channel controller, optical Dissolved Oxygen Probe and installation materials like cable, wire, junction box, and mounting hardware and the equipment will be used in the wastewater treatment plant to monitor the quality of treatment.

The board also discussed the golf course redevelopment. It discussed working with Juneau County to combine parcels of land that is owned by Juneau County (Former Golf Course Property) and the land owned by the Necedah Community Development Authority (Residential Lots) to make larger lots. It was also discussed how the water and sewer utilities was serving the area and how they could help assist with development.

The Village Board of Necedah is looking into the possibility of a community theater. The Castle Rock Theater requested to the board to establish such a theater in the village. Herried said the community theater is something the board is trying to obtain more information about and the matter has been sent to the Economic Development Committee to gather the information.
