Vernon County Sheriff John Spears Reports

SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING June 9, 2014.

6/2  Samuel Colburn, Viroqua, was attempting to turn right onto a private driveway on Belgium Ridge Road, Town of Franklin, when Lisa Briant, Viroqua, attempted to leave the private driveway.  No injuries were reported in the ensuing crash.

6/6  Matthew Heisz, Hillsboro, attempted to pass a John Deere tractor driven by Enos Yoder, Wonewoc. Yoder was making a left hand turn at the time.  No injuries were reported in the subsequent crash.

6/7  Multiple vehicles in the Village of Stoddard were “egged” over night.

6/7  Hayley Cade, Viroqua, lost control of her vehicle on a curve of County Road KK, Town of Coon, and drove into the ditch.  She reported no injuries.

6/9                   10 reportable car/deer crashes:

Ashley Palmer, La Farge, on Plum Run Road, Town of Stark;

Elizabeth Swiggum, La Farge, on Avalanche Road, Town of Webster;

Edward Walleser, DeSoto, on South Creek Road, Town of Genoa;

Katie Curtis, DeSoto, on South Creek Road, Town of Genoa;

Faythe Knox, Viroqua, on US Highway 14, Town of Coon;

Raymond Lombard, Viola, on US Highway 14, Town of Viroqua;

Landon Vinger, Viola, on State Highway 56, Town of Liberty;

Shelly Hass, Chaseburg, on State Highway 35, Town of Bergen;

Lisa Olson, Viroqua, on Rainbow Drive, Town of Coon;

Kristine Shepard, Stoddard, on State Highway 35, Town of Bergen.
