Mile Bluff Medical Center Foundation held its 4th Annual Mile Bluff Medical Center Foundation Golf Outing in early August, and it turned out to be a huge success. Over 100 participants golfed to support local healthcare at Castle Rock Golf Course. Foundation Executive Director Martha Airth-Kindree said, “The support from our local and business partners was amazing. It was a perfect summer day made even brighter by our generous sponsors who really made the event and its success possible.” At the end of the outing, the Gundersen Health System team had the best golf game, earning the group the first place trophy and $500. Through the contributions collected on behalf of the event, $23,729 was raised, which is more than double what was collected before. Airth-Kindree said, “I want to thank everyone from the participants and sponsors to the volunteers and staff at Castle Rock Golf Course who kept everything running smoothly.” The proceeds from the outing will go towards helping Mile Bluff Medical Center Foundation make a positive impact on the health of the community. The foundation’s vision is to build community partnerships that ensure lifelong commitments to healthcare advancement, personal well-being and improvement throughout Mile Bluff’s six-county service area. Plans for next year’s golf outing are already underway with the date set for August 6, 2015 at Castle Rock Golf Course.
