Adams Police Chief has reached a resignation/retirement agreement with the City. Adams City Administrator Bob Ellisor says, “effective at the Monday night City Council meeting Police Chief Todd Hanson’s paid administrative leave has turned into a leave of absence in effect until June 11th, 2013. In the course of due diligence in reviewing policy violations, the questions the City’s labor attorney was going to ask Chief Hanson regarding the investigation instead turned into questions regarding negotiating a resignation/retirement. The City and Hanson reached a mutual agreement. The City feels it can maintain the same level of service with four full time officers and three or four part-time officers. Mark Klaus will remain the Officer-in-Charge.”
