The Department of Natural Resources has started reminding hunters to be safe this deer hunting season. Wisconsin’s nine day gun deer season opens on November 22 and runs through November 30. The DNR says hunters should treat every firearm as if it’s loaded, always point the muzzle in a safe direction, be certain of their target and what’s beyond and keep fingers outside the trigger guard until ready to shoot. The agency also is reminding hunters to use a harness in tree stands and make sure guns are empty when climbing in or out of stands.
