With wildlife officials reporting a lower total in deer registered over opening weekend in the state of Wisconsin, Juneau and Adams Counties are also reporting lower numbers. The total number of deer registered for Juneau County was 1472 deer; 897 bucks and 575 antlerless deer. In Adams County, the numbers were 1074 total deer registered; 665 being bucks and 409 antlerless deer. These numbers are from what was called in over the weekend from registration points. The Department of Natural Resources says that hunters sometimes wait to register their deer, so these numbers are just preliminary numbers and not the official count. Numbers are expected to go up for the conclusion of the gun deer season, which ends November 30th. A total of 90,281 deer were registered in the state during opening weekend.
