Throughout the year, Mile Bluff Medical Center hosts a number of community blood drives and they will be holding another one on December 8. The events are a partnership between the medical center and the BloodCenter of Wisconsin, the sole supplier of blood products to Mile Bluff. At this drive, citizens will have the option to make a whole blood donation, or they can give a dual red or platelet-only donation. Anyone 16 or older who is in general health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds to donate. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes birth date. Appointments can be scheduled by calling BloodCenter toll free 1-888-310-7555. Walk-in donors are also welcomed.
