A Mount Sterling man was arrested as the result of a theft investigation. Vernon County Sheriff John B. Spears says 40-year-old Jeffrey A. Bolstad was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon. The arrest was in connection with the theft of several weathered boards removed and taken from a tobacco shed located along Chadwick Hollow Road, in the Town of Liberty. The theft was reported Wednesday morning at 10:15 AM. Bolstad was apprehended while trying to sell the boards at a business in rural Readstown. Bolstad appeared in Vernon County Circuit Court on Thursday and is being held on a $2,500.00 cash bail and charges are being sought through the Vernon County District Attorney.The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate other unsolved crimes of a similar nature and more arrests could be forthcoming.
