A Baraboo woman was arrested for OWI-6th offense, which is a felony. Monday evening, a citizen reported a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road. A Sauk County deputy located the vehicle in the Township of Delton. Upon stopping the vehicle, 61-year-old Marlene Ann Cleveland was identified as the operator. Cleveland exhibited signs of impairment and refused to perform field sobriety tests for the deputy. Cleveland was arrested for OWI and resisted deputies’ attempts to place her in the deputy’s patrol car. The sheriff’s office says Cleveland kicked one of the deputies “in the groin area causing minor discomfort to the deputy”. Cleveland continuously wished death upon the arresting deputy’s life and his family, according to the report. While the deputy was explaining procedural instructions to Cleveland, she continued to yell, “I can’t hear you!” Cleveland refused to submit to an evidential test of her blood and a warrant was obtained to complete the test. In addition to the charge of OWI -6th offense, Cleveland was booked into the Sauk County Jail for resisting an officer and battery to an officer.
