Tomah Memorial Hospital is offering a special screening event to help educate and raise awareness of leg vein issues and the potential health risk associated with vein disorders. Hospital Vascular Surgeon Dr. John W. Robertson says more often than not, people with varicose veins believe their condition is cosmetic and not a medical condition. Chronic venous insufficiency – or CVI and varicose veins affect 30 million Americans, yet Robertson said reports indicate that less than 10 percent seek treatment. Tomah Memorial now offers a minimally-invasive treatment that eliminates varicose veins and improves the appearance of the legs, allowing for a short, comfortable recovery and a quick return to everyday activities. To address possible vein issues, Tomah Memorial’s Center for Cosmetic Care staff will hold complimentary one-on-one screenings from 4:30 to 6pm, and from 6 to 7:30 February 19.  Pre-registration is required to attend the screening by calling 374-6741.  Attendance is limited.
