Vernon County Sheriff John Spears Reports

SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING February 23, 2015.

2/17 Danielle Heilman, La Crosse, was negotiating a curve on County Road NN, Town of Franklin.  She continued straight onto Black River Avenue, lost control striking a utility pole belonging to Vernon Electric Cooperative.  The vehicle had severe damage and had to be towed.  No injuries were reported.

2/21 Michael Murray, Elroy, lost control of his vehicle on Hwy F, Town of Forest, striking a utility pole belonging to Vernon Telephone Company, but no reported injuries.

2/21 Jennifer Clark, Hillsboro, turned right to miss a deer on Scratch Road, Town of Whitestown, when she hit a tree and ended up in the ditch.  The vehicle was towed due to damage, but there were no apparent injuries.

2/22 Margery Brutscher, Readstown, was backing up in the Kickapoo Kwk Stop parking lot, Village of Readstown.  When Brutscher was backing up, she didn’t see Brian Steyer, Soldiers Grove, parking and she backed into Steyer’s truck.  There was minor damage to both vehicles, but no injuries were claimed in the crash.

2/23             4 reportable car/deer crashes:

Karen Thompson, Viroqua, on Hwy 56, Town of Jefferson;

David Larson, Coon Valley, on Hwy 33, Town of Hillsboro;

Matthew Nowak, La Farge, on County Road P, Town of Whitestown;

Daniel Stalsberg, Westby, on Hwy 14, Town of Coon;
