The Mauston School Board took action regarding budget reductions for the 2015-2016 school year. The board decided Monday night to eliminate 1.0 full time equivalency position for an elementary school computer teacher and to reduce a middle school music position from 1.0 to 0.7 for next school year. Members of the school board stressed the cuts were made for purely budgetary reasons.
Other action the board took:
- Administered the Oath of Office to Carrie Buss and Pam Holmes
- Approved the resignations of Barb Whyte, Gail Bundy, Jean Polk, and Laura Rieke
- Approved the Speech-Language Pathologist contract to April Ruland
- Approved donations from the Lyndon Station PTC, the Westside/Grayside PTC, Golden Eagles Athletic Boosters, and Paul Reeder
- Approved a base wage salary increase of 1.46% for the 2014-2015 school year, which was budgeted
- Approved to apply for QZAB
- Approved the proposed agreement with Bray Architects for replacement of Olson Middle School HVAC System
- Approved a resolution approving CESA 5 Purchase of Property
- Appointed Lynda Vinopal as a delegate to the 2015 CESA Convention
- Approved to send a resolution to state legislators asking the state to not cut funding to schools and instead keep funding in line with inflation
The Mauston School Board usually meets the third Monday of the month at 7pm in the District Office.
