A Beloit man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Sauk County Friday. Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister said the Sauk County Communications had received a call regarding a single motorcycle crash on County Highway K at the intersection of Bass Road in the Town of Winfield. A Sauk County deputy responded and found that 45-year-old Rob S. Nordeng from Beloit, was travelling north on County Highway K as part of a group and failed to negotiate the curve south of Giles Road, causing him to continue onto the shoulder and across Bass Road. The motorcycle then flipped over and Nordeng was thrown. He was transported to Reedsburg Area Medical Center for treatment of a serious head injury, and was later transferred to UW-Hospital by MedFlight. Sheriff Meister said Nordeng was not wearing a helmet. Police believe speed may have been a factor in the crash; however, alcohol was not a factor. This crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
