Mile Bluff – Necedah Family Medical Center hosted its 1st annual Autumn Scamper 5k Run/Walk last fall.  There were more than 20 participants in the kid’s race, and over 60 individuals participated in the 5k.   “Despite the cold and wet weather, we had a great turnout,” recalled Event Coordinator Tasha Ragan.  “We were thrilled with the response received from the community, and everyone’s willingness to support this event.  The Autumn Scamper gave us a great opportunity to give back, while promoting healthy activity.”

Recently, the staff at Necedah Family Medical Center donated $1,870.80 from its run/walk to the Necedah School District.  In addition to the funds raised, 220 pounds of canned goods were also collected and donated to the Necedah Food Pantry.

“A big thank you goes out to our sponsors and donors for their support of the run/walk, as well as the volunteers who helped make the event possible,” added Tasha.  “We are looking forward to an even better event this year in support of another Necedah program.”

The 2nd annual Autumn Scamper 5k Run/Walk is scheduled to take place in Necedah on Saturday, October 3.  To learn about possible sponsorship opportunities, or to have your name added to the participant mailing list for the upcoming event, contact the staff at Necedah Family Medical Center at 608-565-2000.
