There was an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor on Highway 12/16 in the Township of Tomah last Friday evening. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said the pickup truck driven by 70-year-old Howard Krosinski of Oakdale was traveling east on the highway, and came up behind a slow moving tractor being operated by 41-year-old Darrick Johnson of rural Tomah. Krosinski’s vehicle struck the left rear tire on the tractor, which caused his truck to overturn and come to rest on the westbound shoulder. Krosinski was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by EMS personnel. He was transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say Johnson was uninjured in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
