The Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday. The celebration started off with the 50th Anniversary Bike Ride on the trail. Bicyclists from several states took part in the bike ride, as well as former governor Tommy Thompson. After the ride, there was a ceremony at the Kendall Depot, which had featured speakers, Kurt Thiede from the WI Department of Natural Resources, Friends of the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail President Dave Heilman, and Stephanie Klett from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.
