A Madison man was injured in a motorcycle versus pickup truck accident on Sunday morning near Wildcat Mountain State Park. Vernon County Sheriff John B. Spears said 36-year-old Travis J. Ford of Ontario was eastbound on Highway 33 and had contact with an eastbound motorcycle operated by 32-year-old Stewart Reese of Madison. Reese lost control of his motorcycle. He struck an embankment, which caused the motorcycle overturned, ejecting Reese off of his motorcycle. Reese’s motorcycle flipped over and landed on his leg. Spears said Reese was wearing a helmet and full riding gear and declined medical transport at the scene. Spears also said Reese later sought medical treatment in Madison, reporting he sustained a broken finger. Ford and his three passengers were all wearing seat belts and reported no injuries.
Ontario Fire, Ontario EMS and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources assisted the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
