A Mauston man has been charged with sexual exploitation of a child along with several other related charges. According to the criminal complaint, on August 5, the Mauston Police Department was dispatched to property at the end of Roosevelt Street for suspicious activity. Upon arrival, the officers observed a male and a female outside the structure on the property. The complaint states the male, who was later identified as 19-year-old Darrell Wallace Junior, was inappropriately touching a 16-year-old female and allegedly took a picture. Police arrested Wallace and transported him to the Juneau County Jail. He is also charged with child enticement – taking photos, felony bail jumping, and attempted sexual intercourse with a child 16 or older. Court records show that Wallace is out on a $50,000 signature bond and he is to not have contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18. He has an initial appearance scheduled for August 19. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
