FRIENDSHIP, Wis. (AP) – A 28-year-old Adams man authorities say fatally shot his girlfriend when she startled him awake has pleaded not guilty to a reckless homicide charge. Coleman Dybul is charged in the shooting death of 27-year-old Toni Voss. The Wausau Daily Herald (http://wdhne.ws/10dHmmu) reports an Adams County investigator described in court Monday what happened during the early morning hours of March 2, when Voss got up to get her son a glass of milk. According to the complaint, a noise woke Dybul, and he saw the silhouette of a person against a window. Dybul mistook the figure for someone attacking Voss and shot at it with a loaded shotgun, fatally striking Voss in the chest. Dybul told authorities he was “hit” in Afghanistan and keeps a weapon near him while he sleeps.
