SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING November 2, 2015.
10/26 A safe, lock box, and documents were found on County Road P, Westby, in the Town of Clinton.
10/26 Greg Lyster, Hillsboro, reported some metal and wooden cow stanchions were stolen from an old barn in the Town of Hillsboro.
10/27 Jared Wilson, Chaseburg, was turning left onto South Main Street in the Village of Chaseburg, when he struck a vehicle driven by Cathy Stellner-Sagler, who was traveling on South Main Street. Wilson and Stellner-Sagler suffered no injuries and their vehicles had moderate damage.
10/27 Seth Schultz, La Crosse, was traveling on County Road K, in the Town of Bergen, when he swerved to miss a deer. He hit the deer, crossed the center line, left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and went into a creek where his vehicle flipped end to end on its roof. Schultz suffered no apparent injury. His vehicle was towed with severe damage.
10/27 Michael Peterson, La Farge, was traveling on State Highway 131 in the Town of Stark when his vehicle hydroplaned, causing him to lose control. Peterson crossed the center line and struck a guardrail. His injuries were non-incapacitating, and his vehicle had moderate damage.
10/28 Douglas Workman, Seneca, was traveling south on County Road J, in the Town of Franklin, when he crossed the center line into the oncoming lane of traffic. He struck a vehicle driven by Chester Yost, Coon Valley. Neither Workman nor Yost suffered injuries. Workman’s vehicle had to be towed with severe damage, the Yost vehicle suffered moderate damage.
10/29 Charles Hundt, Bangor, was legally parked on Roosevelt Street, in the Village of Coon Valley, when his vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a mobile home being towed by David Bean of Westby. There was severe damage to Hundt’s pickup truck. The Bean vehicle also hit a Pedestrian Walk sign on the corner of Central Avenue and Roosevelt Street.
10/30 Holly Slack called to report her husband, David Slack, ran his pickup truck off the road in the Town of Franklin. David was not injured, and the truck was not damaged.
10/30 Todd Day, Mauston, backed into a parked vehicle belonging to Fred Kinne of Iowa, in the Kwik Stop parking lot on Main Street, in the Village of Stoddard. The Kinne vehicle had minor damage while the Day vehicle had none.
10/31 Kevin Burke, was traveling on US Highway 14 in the Town of Coon, when he fell asleep and crossed the center line. Burke went off the road, striking a tree and a fence.
11/1 The Assistant Town of Clinton Patrolman called to report a stop sign missing from the intersection at Clinton Ridge Road for the second time.

11/1 Scott Mills, Westby, to his Town of Jefferson property.
