SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING November 9, 2015.

11/3             Numerous items of hunting clothing and gear were stolen off the porch of a residence on Compton Road, in the Town of Stark.

11/4             Jordan Hemker of West Salem was traveling eastbound on Main Street in the City of Westby.  Hemker pulled onto the shoulder of the road, to allow for traffic to pass.  Jerrold Buros of Westby was traveling eastbound on Main Street.  Two vehicles went by Hemker and he then attempted to make a U-Turn.  Hemker did not see Buros behind him, and the two vehicles collided.  Hemker failed to yield the right of way.  No injuries were reported.  Both vehicles were towed.

11/5             A hit and run occurred in the Thirsty Turtle parking lot, in the Village of Stoddard.  It appears Unit 1 (unknown) was backing out of a parking space and struck a legally parked vehicle in the rear driver’s side.  Unit 1 did not report the incident and drove away traveling westbound.  This incident is still under investigation.

11/6             Suspicious activity was reported on Kolash Road, in the Town of Greenwood.  It was believed a rock was thrown at their window, and they could see individual(s) with a flashlight outside by their vehicle.
