The driver of a BloodCenter of Wisconsin van was seriously injured as a result of a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon. The deputy said 58-year old Richard Hannum of Marshfield was traveling north on Highway 80 in the Town of Necedah. He failed to see a semi stopped in traffic attempting a left turn into the ethanol plant driveway. The white van struck the rear end of the grain trailer. The deputy was traveling south on Highway 80 and witnessed the accident. Hannum did not appear to slow or make an evasive manner to avoid the crash. He was medically transported to Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston. Hannum was cited for ‘inattentive driving’ and fined $187.90. The driver of the semi, 23-year old Michael Stark of Hixton, Wisconsin, was uninjured.
