“Buckle up Juneau County,” says Sheriff Brent Oleson. “As a result of a federal grant the Juneau County Sheriff‘s Office will be working closely with schools and communities to educate motorists by providing educational programs, demonstrations, and handouts to increase seatbelt knowledge and use. The goal is to decrease the number of unrestrained passengers and speed related traffic fatalities. This educational and enforcement initiative will run throughout the summer into the fall of 2013.” In 2011, 79-percent of Wisconsin drivers and passengers used their seatbelts, below the national average of 84-percent.
