Every monthly Royall School Board meeting includes an agenda item called ‘Celebrate Royall’. Royall School Superintendent Mark Gruen said, “Tuesday night the Board was informed that a national newspaper had recognized Royall Schools for their academic achievement. The U.S. News & World Report has ranked Royall Middle/High School among the top 13% in the nation and awarded it a Bronze medal.” According to the newspaper’s website, among schools that performed well on state exit exams, U.S.News awarded them a gold, silver, and bronze medals based on their students’ mastery of college-level material. (college readiness index) At Royall Middle/High, students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement course work and exams. The Advance Placement participation rate at Royall Middle/High School is 20-percent. Gruen also reported, “7 Royall High School girls will be competing at the State Track Meet on Friday and 100-percent of the Seniors who started the school year will be graduating Friday.”
