On Monday night, the New Lisbon School Board voted to set a tax levy and levy rate for the 2014-2015 school year. Because of an increase in state aid, based mostly on an increase in student enrollment during the 2013-2014 school year, the school tax levy dropped from $3,684,418 to $3,387,281, a decrease of $297,137. A release from the district said this lowers the tax rate from $10.97 per thousand dollars of equalized evaluation to $10.09. This saves the owner of a $100,000 home $88 on property taxes and a $200,000 home $176.
