The New Lisbon Educational Foundation is looking to revamp the school district’s athletic fields. At a press conference on Tuesday, the foundation’s treasurer Dennis Birr gave an overview of the plans, which includes putting a drainage system under the fields and upgrade and expand restroom facilities. The primary goal is to raise $1.5 million to help facilitate construction and donate the completed project to the school district without the use of tax dollars. Birr said the group wanted to raise the amount rather than put more burdens on the taxpayers. No date has been set for breaking ground as it depends on when the funds come in.
The New Lisbon Educational Foundation was created to support the School District of New Lisbon and the overall New Lisbon Community, and are a non-profit organization.
