SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING December 22, 2014.
12/15 A cabin on County Road NN, Town of Franklin, was burglarized in the night. Stolen items included a Dell computer, snow shoes, an Amish made laundry hamper, a black 3-shelf book case, Stanley, Bostwick and other tools.
12/18 James Reed, Hillsboro, was pulling two farm trailers north on County Road Q, Town of Greenwood, when they became unhitched from his truck. Mark Judd, Loganville, traveling south on County Road Q failed to see the trailers in the dark and side-swiped the rear of the second trailer. No injuries were reported.
12/19 Thomas Van, Iowa, was backing out of a parking stall in the Kwik Trip parking lot, Village of Stoddard, when he struck the cement guard pole in front of the utility pole. No injuries were reported.
12/20 Douglas Servais, Bangor, was backing out of a parking stall in the Kwik Trip parking lot, Village of Stoddard, when he struck the cement guard pole in front of the utility pole. No injuries were reported.
12/20 McKenzie Scoville, DeSoto, was southbound on West Street, Village of Stoddard, when she heard a loud noise and lost control of her vehicle. She hit the curb and a parking sign near the post office and came to a stop at the intersection of Main and Center Street. No injuries were reported.
12/22 6 reportable car/deer crashes:
Christopher Kosher, La Crosse, on State Highway 82, Town of Stark;
Dillon Clermont, La Farge, on State Highway 82, Town of Webster;
Steven Hase, Viroqua, on State Highway 56, Town of Jefferson;
Tom Tracey, West Salem, on Main Street, Village of Stoddard;
John Gavin, Hillsboro, on State Highway 82, Town of Hillsboro;
Nathan Helms, LaValle, on State Highway 82, Town of Hillsboro.
