Representative-Elect Nancy VanderMeer announced that she will be holding an in-district inauguration ceremony in Tomah on Tuesday, December 30th. VanderMeer, a Republican from Tomah, defeated Democrat incumbent Amy Sue Vruwink in the November elections. She said, “A local inauguration ceremony allows me to thank the voters of the 70th Assembly District for giving me the opportunity to serve them in Madison as a Member of the state Assembly.” The 70th Assembly District includes portions of Monroe, Jackson, Portage, and Wood Counties. The district inauguration will be held at the Tomah City Hall in the Council Chambers at 5:30pm and a reception will follow the ceremony. The public is invited to attend. VanderMeer is entering her first-term in the Wisconsin State Assembly and officially takes office on January 5th.
