A New Lisbon man is facing several sexual assault charges. 34-year-old Amos Day, formerly of rural Mauston, is charged with three counts first degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 13; one count of first degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 12; two counts of causing a child under the age of 13 to view/listen to a sex act; one count of exposing a child to harmful material; and three counts of exposing genitals to a child.
According to the criminal complaint, the alleged contact to have occurred from September 2013 and October 2014 in the Town of Kildare. The complaint also says that initially, Day denied all accusations, however based on the interview with the child he was placed under arrest and that a short time later Day waived his rights and admitted to the incidents reported by the child. He then reportedly provided detailed accounts of the sexual contact.
Online court records show that a cash bond of $50,000 was set for Day and he is not to have contact with the victim, victim’s family or residence. He also is not to have contact with anyone under the age of 18. An initial appearance is set for January 21. Day is currently being held at the Juneau County Sheriff’s Jail.
