Highly Visible Enforcement Saturation Patrols – Feb 20th

The Juneau County Sheriff Office and the Mauston, Elroy, and New Lisbon Police Departments are working collaboratively in efforts to combat impaired driving through a high-visibility enforcement combined with a comprehensive public- education/awareness campaign. The above agencies will be conducting Highly Visible Enforcement saturation patrols on Friday, February 20 from 7 PM to 3 AM. Juneau County residents and visitors will see an increase in Law Enforcement visibility during these times. Law enforcement said the goal is not to arrest more drunken drivers, but to deter drunken driving, so that the ultimate goal of zero preventable traffic deaths is attainable. In the past 10 years, fatalities from alcohol-related crashes dropped from 348 in 2003 to 185 in 2013, which is a 47 percent reduction. Injuries from alcohol-related crashes dropped from 6,445 in 2003 to 2,660 in 2013, which is a 59 percent reduction. If you have any questions please feel free to contact any of the listed agencies and speak with:
