The Adams-Friendship School Board voted to pursue an Act 32 energy saving project at its monthly meeting on Monday night. Act 32 is a state program that allows the districts to provide funding for energy upgrades and use the savings that are generated to pay for the upgrades. As a result of the unanimous vote, District Administrator Rick Waski said they are looking at several different projects. He said that by utilizing those projects, it could save the amount of energy in both heating and electricity that is projected to be required by the upcoming fine arts center. However, Waski said the savings the district would see ten years after the upgrades have been paid off.
In other business, the board:
- Decided to purchase a van with a lift for special education students.
- Decided to do some trenching to upgrade the wireless access network at Roche-A-Cri Elementary School
- Talked about the possible changes to SAGE classes requirements
- Voted to support a resolution to approve CESA 5’s purchase of property
- Approved open enrollment applications
The Adams-Friendship School board usually meets the second Monday of the month at 7:00 in the District Office.
