A Mauston man was taken into custody for bail jumping, according to the Mauston Police Department. On May 12, a Mauston Police Officer was dispatched to an apartment complex for a male who passed out in the stair well of the building. Upon making contact with the subject, who was later identified as 51-year-old year-old William Emmitt, the officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol. Officers found out that Emmitt was out on bond, and a condition of that bond was absolute sobriety. After he was medically cleared he was transported to Juneau county Jail. Court records show that a $100 cash bond was set for Emmitt and a pre-trail conference was scheduled for May 28.
