JCEDC Executive Director Terry Whipple along with Director of Baseball Operations Steve Young introduces new Woodside Sports Complex Director of Concierge Services Brenda Fredrick
“After the vote, JCEDC continues to work with Woodside Ranch with financing the youth sports complex,” said Juneau County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Terry Whipple during a press meeting Tuesday morning at the JCEDC office in Camp Douglas. Whipple was referring to the Juneau County Board vote last month denying a 6-million dollar loan guarantee to the developer, Damon Zumwalt. Whipple said, “the bank in the Dells has a good understanding of this sports industry and Woodside Ranch is working with banker Paul Schaller for the financing and also with WHEDA, Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, and Damon continues his passion and vision for the project.” Tuesday morning Whipple introduced the new Woodside Sports Complex Director of Concierge Services, Brenda Fredrick. Fredrick, a native of the Dells area, is eager to package deals for the sports teams and their families who will be visiting this summer. From motel rooms to retail stores, campgrounds, tours of area attractions, such as the Refuge and Castle Rock Lake, Fredrick is looking for opportunities to partner with area businesses. Director of Baseball Operations, Steve Young, announced tournaments have been scheduled this summer beginning in late June with a Grand Opening the week of July 4th. Eight synthetic fields will be built at the Woodside Sports Complex east of Mauston with soccer moving to the Dome in the Dells across from Chula Vista. JCEDA Outreach Coordinator Kris Yager will work with area communities to tap into what Woodside Sports Complex is doing and what rural attractions Juneau County communities can offer Woodside’s guests.
