Health care officials say fewer than one in three people who have a heart attack outside a hospital setting get CPR which can double or even triple a victim’s survival rate. Because approximately 40-percent of Americans know the life-saving technique, Tomah Memorial Hospital officials have announced plans to hold CPR class in August. Hospital Community Outreach Health Educator Whitney Sanjari says, “Knowing and using CPR can make the difference between life and death.” Sanjari will teach a class for health care staff and students on August 8th, 2013 from 9am until noon, while a second class for the general public will be held mid-August on Thursday evening, August 15th, 2013 from 6 until 9pm. Cost for the CPR class is 55-dollars for adults and 32-dollars for students. Both classes are certified by the American Heart Association and will be held at Tomah Memorial Hospital. To register for the classes, contact Sanjari at 608-374-0111 or be email at WSanjari@Tomahhospital.org by August 1, 2013.
